Swollen dots/ taste buds on my tongue from chewing gum?
Okay, so yesterday I had a few pieces of this really hot Dentine Ice gum. It was the cinnamon flavor, and today i woke up and my tongue and mouth are killing me! I can’t eat anything too dry or crunchy. I looked at my mouth in the mirror and my tongue has pimply dots on it. They look like randomly scattered, swollen, taste buds. I know that happens when you burn your tongue, but could I be having an allergic reaction? Has anyone else ever experienced this from chewing cinnamon gum?
Also, how long do you think the pain will last?
Thanks in advance
Yes, they are inflamed taste buds and they hurt like hell. This may sound awful, but you can clip them off with nail clippers very carefully. Make sure the clippers are clean and swish with mouthwash or salt water after. They will heal much faster. Otherwise you just have to ride out the pain and that can take up to a week.

I can’t really tell because the photos are too blurry, but from what I can see they look quite ok.
Ask your dentist.
