If you ever killed another human being do you think it would leave you mentally scared?
Former U.S. Marine scout sniper…just curious what others feel about this….how they would handle it or if they think they couldn’t or wouldn’t handle it well.
It depends on one thing, I think. Was it justified?
If their death wasn’t necessary, then I would be scarred. But if I had had no other option but to kill them, I don’t think it would affect me as badly. Having killed someone would still hurt, I think, but perhaps not as badly if there was no other option.

If you mean "scarred", then that is a distinct psychological possibility depending on the circumstances. If you are speaking as a former "sniper" with that experience, I recommend you seek guidance and help, both spiritual and psychological. I speak as a former Marine. Semper Fi.

Depends on what I was killing them for; if I were in a situation to kill or be killed, such as at war I don’t think the fact that I killed someone would scar me for life, but more of the other stuff I would have seen, such as people getting blown up beside me; nor do I think it would scar me if I had to kill someone for breaking into my house at night; I’d probably be a little startled at 1st, but think I’d get over it pretty quick. However, nobody really knows how they would react or how they’ll handle things til they’re actually there!
